Integral Ecology Group is supporting the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in the re-assessment of high elevation grasslands and bighorn sheep winter range in the Elk River valley in southeast British Columbia.
The Elk River valley in southeast British Columbia contains important high elevation grasslands and bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis) winter ranges. The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, and Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy are currently conducting a re-assessment of the bighorn sheep winter range habitat condition work that was conducted in 2009-2010. Integral Ecology Group (IEG) was involved in the original assessment of winter range and is supporting the re-assessment program by assisting in the following activities:
- Vegetation and ecological plot data collection and grassland condition monitoring
- Success of high elevation road remediation data collection
- Data entry and analysis.
